Ever Given Up On A Diet? – Here’s Why

Today I’d like to share with you something that is so powerful.

And absolutely life changing.

But first a quick question?

Have you ever started a diet, a gym, fitness classes, Zumba, running or swimming and then lost motivation and given up?

If you have, then keep reading…..

This is not your fault.

it’s totally normal.

And in actual fact the whole system is designed in a way that relies on you failing. Not just once, but time and time again .

The Main Problem

You see the health & weight loss Industry in the UK is worth over £5 billion per year. And this figure has grown by 20% in the last 5 years alone.

  • There are more gyms than ever.
  • We have more access than ever with most budget gyms now being open 24 hours a day.
  • We have more information at our fingertips than ever on how to lose weight and get in great shape. [just type weight loss into google and see the millions of answers]
  • There are more supplements than ever designed to ‘help’ us lose weight.
  • I swear a new fad diet comes out every month on the best way to lose weight – Paleo, Atkins, Californian, Intermittent Fasting, Cambridge to name just a few.

Yet more people are overweight or obese than any other point in time.

The industry is designed in a way that relies on you to keep failing and keep coming back for more.

It’s actually quite embarrassing.

I’ve Been In Your Shoes

When I was struggling to lose weight myself [I was 3 stone heavier than I am now], I knew that I had to figure out another way.

One that would lead to a successful and long lasting transformation.

Here’s what I discovered….

Significant Change is scientifically proven to be hard for most people. [really hard]

But there is a very common pattern that we all follow when we are trying to make
a big change in our lives.

And it’s called The Emotional Cycle Of Change

There are 5 key stages to this: [see diagram at bottom of email]

Stage 1: Uninformed Optimism: The exciting bit when you make a decision to change [usually without fully understanding everything involved]

Stage 2: Informed Pessimism: When you start to realise what’s involved and how tough it is [especially when ‘life stuff’ starts to get in the way.

Stage 3: Valley Of Despair: Lost momentum. Results have slowed down. Motivation has dropped. And this is when most people GIVE UP…..and eventually go back to the beginning with a different strategy.

Stage 4: Informed Optimism The small % that manage to push through past stage 4 start to be rewarded for the consistency and discipline shown up to this point. Micro wins start adding up to big successes.

Stage 5: Success / Transformation: Goals are achieved. New found confidence and belief. This formula is then applied to other areas of life.

We Have All Done This

All of those diets?

Most likely you will have given up between stages 2 & 3.

The previous gym memberships?

The same.

Think about it.

Join a gym all excited and positive about getting into the best shape ever. [stage 1 – uninformed optimism]

The first few weeks are great.

But then after a month or so, 3 sessions per week becomes 2 because you’re so busy.

Then because the workouts are not being combined with the best nutrition advice to compliment it and you end up even more hungry on workout days so eat more – you don’t see any results for your hard work. [stage 2 – informed pessimism]

Then after 2 months the effort v reward is so poor that you start to question whether this is even worth it. The gym visits become less frequent. And then eventually just give up [stage 3 – valley of despair]

This pattern of behaviour is normal

The Solution?

When I became aware of this, it was a game changer.

I just needed to come up with a solution.

Which initially worked on myself.

Then it worked on friends and family.

And I have since perfected this solution over the years with our clients.

And this is exactly what I teach on our initial KickStart Transformation Programme.

We help everyone to push through stage 3.

No more giving up.

No more failure.

You CAN Do It

Imagine that in 28 days, you’ve done it.

You’ve dropped the first dress size – feel great.

Feel more confident than you have in years.

So much so that people close to you have noticed the change. They’ve complimented you.

They’ve recognised your hard work and effort.

You’re more positive about the future.

You’re more focused at work and at home.

You wake up and jump out of bed each morning actually excited about the day ahead.

I love teaching this.

This is so much more than a few sessions at the gym each week.

This is real life changing coaching.

And I’d love to help you as well.
