All our members are inspiring! From those who can barely get up and down off the floor when they first start, to those who are barely recognisable after their transformations. Inspiration comes from watching them overcome their fears, watching them pick up heavier weights, do the exercises they dislike the most with a smile on their face. If I were to pick one, it would be Jennifer who lives with MS. Despite her limitations, she has, over the years with FBL, learnt what her alternatives are and just gets on with it in her sessions. Of course, we still keep an eye on her. She made a vow that she wouldn’t let her MS control her life and she is absolutely rocking it!
Nobody takes themselves too seriously at the gym, even the coaches. You’ll often find us singing or dancing away! But don’t be deceived into thinking we’re distracted or not watching! Bela is known for her espresso’s, a couple of those and she has enough energy for all of us!
Bela is often reminding us that “what we focus on becomes our reality!”. We have to reframe what we’re telling our brains, give is a positive story. Stop focusing on what we can’t do and notice the things we are doing.
There are no taboo’s in FBL. Whether its farting doing ab stuff or peeing yourself doing jumping jacks, nobody feels uncomfortable. We all have a joke and laugh about it!
If we go by the sessions that are booked the most, it has to be upper body day! The ladies love working towards having slender arms and shoulders! Having said that, we’ve recently introduced “core and stretch” and the ladies are absolutely loving that too. To be honest, all sessions are popular given we change them daily, something they absolutely love about FBL. So much variety, you can’t get bored!
